Belgium uses international export and import laws for its country and is a member of The Australia Group.
The Australia Group is a multilateral export control regime (MECR) and an informal group of countries (now joined by the European Commission) established in 1985. (after the use of chemical weapons by Iraq in 1984) was established to assist member states in identifying those exports.
The responsibility for issuing export licenses in Belgium is delegated to three regions: the Brussels Capital Region, Flanders and Wallonia.
