This country is one of the Southeast Asian countries, affected by several decades of stagnation, mismanagement and isolation. Burma is a country with rich resources, but its economy has the least development and progress in the world. Burma's GDP is 53.14 billion dollars and its average economic growth is 5.5% per year, which is the lowest economic growth in the Mekong region. In the meantime, the European Union, the United Nations and Canada had approved heavy economic sanctions against Burma.
